Video: Me (and my book) on CNN
Plus: Some recent articles and the registration page for my event in Texas
As my headline gives away, the big item of this newsletter is that I went on CNN last week to discuss my latest piece at The Daily Beast, which used the recent House passage of the Respect for Marriage Act as a case study for why American lawmakers should craft shorter, simpler legislation.
The producers decided to bill me not only as a Daily Beast contributor but also as the author of Untrustworthy, and they made this very nice graphic to introduce me to the 5:30 a.m. crowd (peep that timestamp):
Today I can also pass along the registration page for that event in Amarillo with David French and Jeff Bilbro which I mentioned in my last note. It’s geared toward pastors, but you don’t have to be a pastor to attend, and it’s free! The event is called “Advocate for Truth,” and I'll be speaking on themes from Untrustworthy. Here’s a brief description:
We've seen misinformation, conspiracies, and political divisiveness burn hot across many communities in America today. What can churches do to bring light and hope as bearers of the Truth? Please join us as we grapple with some of the most challenging issues for churches today.
I hope I’ll see some of you there, and if you’re not near Amarillo but know people who are—especially those in church leadership—please share this with them. It’s limited to 100 attendees, so snag a spot soon:
I’ve also published a handful of other pieces since I last wrote here:
