Your voice here, and generally out in the all the places where you are published, is a non-anxious presence for me, a go-to when everyone else seems to be freaking out. I also appreciated that about Untrustworthy. And I sometimes find myself quoting things/ideas/facts you write about on your substack-- no pressure (haha). Now, I'm going to go try to find the time to read more about republicanism! and liberalism!

Never thought I’d be agreeing with DJT for king, but here we are.

Let's remember, we don't elect kings but ones who are supposed to preside over the Federal government. I sense a stirring among Senators to resist tyranny from a childish leader. Jim Jordan wants all the prosecutor's details regarding the Jan. 6 case. I am praying for limited administrative chaos over the next 4 years. Will we see another impeachment?

You provide a light moment to what has been a tough day. My mood is such that I took the Loftus quote in the "good" way that you mentioned, and missed the lampoon. )I need a shift). I have come to more and more a place of following the politics of the Federal government just to be aware while engaging locally and in conversations. As we have often thought and expressed, our founders could not have had a clue how complex our culture has become. We require an administrative state because of technology and industry and because of a constitutional democratic republican structure, administration is inherently inefficient. And then we have the human factor. So, having read Frank Viola, "Insurgence", his comments on the Kingdom and earthly governments, and Nebuchadnezzar's vision and the ultimate collapse of these earthly governments, I must focus more on the King, Jesus. The present administration will pass away, as did Biden's. I remind people that the Greeks gave us democracy and Rome gave us a republican approach. Both empires have become ruins. Term limits are a good thing. Will this pendulum swing, being so far one way, result in a big shift in 2028? We will see,

How about you keep your Christianity between yourself and your fellow believers? If you want to believe in fairy tales, that's your right. I personally don't 'believe' anything that's not based in science and fact. The whole concept of an anthropocentric, omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent god has no basis in fact. Your 'God' is my universe, and humans are not the center of it.

Jesus is fully human. He is the center. He is a mystery and a marvel and the author of this site happens to be a believer as I am. Sorry for your pain. If Bonnie were not a believer, I might not post such here. I don't push my faith. Jesus doesn't force Himself either. "Facts" can be deceptive.
