Oh, for sure. I suppose I'd group them in with Trump in this sentence: "But this attack line rubs me the wrong way, not for what it says about Trump but for how reeks of belief in a 'legitimate public.'" (Not least because that kind of thing is decidedly not a widely held belief among Americans.)
Also, yeah, it's wild to me that the couch thing has become acceptable even at Walz's level! If you think Trump is weird, maybe don't do Trump-level antics!
"Weird" had its refreshing moment. But I don't think Democrats can stick with it. It was an apt descriptor for Vance and his schtick at a particular point in time, but the challenge now is to be in the moment enough to make new salient observations and not just rely on what landed a couple weeks ago.
